Nrf2 Protandim Oxidative Stress and Autism

One of many new things I have learned on this journey is that, there is ALWAYS something NEW to learn! I mean back in March when I got B's test results one big thing was the oxidative stress ... it was off the charts
I was like, what the heck does THAT mean?!

Oxidative stress reflects an imbalance between the systemic manifestation of reactive oxygen species and a biological system's ability to readily detoxify the reactive intermediates or to repair the resulting damage. Disturbances in the normal redox state of cells can cause toxic effects through the production of peroxides and free radicals that damage all components of the cell, including proteins,lipids, and DNA. Further, some reactive oxidative species act as cellular messengers in redox signaling. Thus, oxidative stress can cause disruptions in normal mechanisms of cellular signaling.
In humans, oxidative stress is thought to be involved in the development of cancer,^[1] Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease,^[2]atherosclerosis, heart failure,^[3] myocardial infarction,^[4][5] fragile X syndrome,^[6] Sickle Cell Disease,^[7] lichen planus,^[8] vitiligo,^[9]autism,^[10] and chronic fatigue syndrome.^[11] However, reactive oxygen species can be beneficial, as they are used by the immune system as a way to attack and kill pathogens.^[12] Short-term oxidative stress may also be important in prevention of aging by induction of a process named mitohormesis.^[13]

So basically MORE inflammation on a cellular level that damages cells , impairs the cell's ability to heal itself , damages the ability to detoxify by damaging  the body's glutathirone  . Isn't that seemingly the case with everything? 
The Brain ....inflammation / cell damage
The Gut ..... inflammation / cell damage 
The immune system ...   their WHOLE body is inflamed! 
These poor kids! 
Now you wonder why some bang their heads, bite ,hit ,cry...they are in PAIN! 
SEVERE Pain! Between all these areas being hit, and when left UNTREATED 
they will continue to digress, their health , their behaviors , their lives...
you have to TREAT the insides , to heal them to help them recover....

So Now we know what this is, HOW do we help it?! What can we do about this?!
Well I have learned about a great product, that our MAPS doc added to Bella's protocol. We have been using it since March. 
Its called Nrf2 Pathway Activator  or Protandim.

And real quick, by NO MEANS is this is sale thing..

Ok..lets proceed...
Nrf2 and Protandim are the same in one, figure to clear that as I was confused at first. The difference is simply a name. 
Protandim activates Nrf2, which communicates with cells, instructing them to do what they’re already designed to do: up-regulate “survival genes,” genes that enable cells to survive in the face of stress from free radicals and other oxidants, and down-regulate other genes to help the body function at an optimal level. So its designed to relief oxidative stress! BINGO! 
I was on board to try it! The first few months I tried the brand my doc gave me, then I came across this brand, 
Life Vantage and then I learned that they have been helping many with Autism so I wanted to learn more. A mother reached out to me about How it helped her non-verbal son so much he began to try and speak! And now has a few words and keeps trying to get more out daily! That made my heart sing for her boy , and my Hope for Bina go up higher... I did send the info to our MAPS doc, and asked his opinion about trying this brand, and he checked it out and gave his approval  to try it if i'd like. So we did! We have been using this brand since this past August , and honestly seams no different...the only difference is pricing, and pill amount  and type. The Nrf2 by IP ( other brand ) was a capsule and 2 caps was 1 serving. This brand is a little smaller pill and only 1 is needed daily. 
Also, the Protandim is slightly cheaper which helps in regards to all the other things we need to get for her, so I am sticking with Life Advantage for now. Bella seams alot less anxious happier, more relaxed and calmer in situations in which she would otherwise not be. She has shown better concentration and improved academics and behavior at school. It seams to help relieve something..and I am guessing what they called the "oxidative stress". And now since we started the detoxing, this will aide in that so its a double wammie of positiveness for us. I give it a warrior Mom's thumb up!
